Found in small suitcase of keepsakes, possibly assembled by Esther Bohannon. According to Jan, this is hatpin work, so named because it could be done with hatpins. The work comes together quickly and was seen as an inferior alternative to crochet. It would seem, therefore, very suited for making a cap for a baby doll. Wish I knew which grandmother or great grandmother made it.
