Wallace C. Bohannon. - The David and Betty George family
David and Betty Gardener George with children, except Ollie who was the youngest. Joey died at age 3, so Mollie is the oldest and so should be behind David. I'm not sure of the boys' birth orders. There was Robert (Uncle Rob who lived in a nursing home in Plainview) who was just a few years older than Ollie, and Jeff and Sal who were older than Rob. I need to learn birth order so I can identify the boys individually. - Sol_JohnGardener
J. Solomon Gardner was the father of Bettie Gardner George. His wife, Bettie's mother, was Emoline Worthy of whom we have no photo (d. 1/28/1880). Bettie was the mother of Ollie George Bohannon. Ollie was the mother of Wallace Cleon Bohannon, father to Kathleen Jane Bohannon. Hence he is our (Leah, Chris, Boh) great, great, great grandfather. In the upper left hand corner is John Gardner, Sol's youngest brother. No date given, but probably 1860s, based on the furniture. - Solomon George, second son of Bettie and David
Solomon George, Jeff's younger brother. Ollie's older brother. - Solomon George, Ollie's brother

Sol George - Solomon and wife Nellie George on picnic
Ollie's brother, Sol George, and his wife, Nellie, at a picnic. They "had 4 children" in Kathy's hand. Looks like there was a significant age difference. - Sol Gardener (Betty's dad), 1821-1908

Rob George, Ollie's brother, and oldest son of David and Bettie. He was born January 5, 1877 in Webster County, MO and died 4 days before his 101st birthday on January 1, 1978. He spent most of his life as a farmer and music teacher, teaching singing (how to read music and harmonize) througout Wright, Webster and Laclede counties. He was an avid fox hunter and kept his hounds until he was 97. He married Etta Connolly in 1899 (she died in 1960) and they had 3 sons and one daughter, Winona (who later lived in TX). According to Winona, he met Etta when he was 6 years old. Despite the fact that she had just been born, he declared that she was the girl he would marry. He got his first job when his father told him that he was 21 and no longer had to work on his dad's farm. So, Rob hopped a fence and started down the road looking for work. A farmer asked him what he was doing and gave him a job he had just been doing for his dad, cutting sprouts. I knew him as Uncle Rob. When I was a child, he was already in a nursing home in Plainview, TX. Mom said there was no reason he was in a wheelchair, but it was easier for the staff to let his muscles atrophy and confine him. He was really nice, more playful than Gram Boh. I always looked forward to visiting him when we went to see Gram Boh. Seems like he may have always had a piece of candy to give out.
