This experiment with afternoon light is just inspired, if I do say so myself. I wish I could have gotten a little more refraction, but I'm largely satisfied with this work. - IMG_0081
I have titled this piece, "The Living Forest." - IMG_0082
I'm not really pleased with this composition, though the intimacy is compelling. - IMG_0083
"Footfalls on the Path" is very successfull in depicting the parity of animal, human, and so-called "inanimate" life. - IMG_0079
It was a little nerve wracking to get this close to Laura's moving feet, but the effect was worth it. - IMG_0080
I love the shadow of Griffin and his people on this curved boulder bordering the trail. You can just make Priscilla out around the bend. - IMG_0077
I like the way this image mimicks the action of rushing water: the only organic, non-animal object that we regularly percieve as moving and pulsing like life. - IMG_0078
I decided to capture Priscilla wandering off while the people decided how to get around an overflowing stream. Prissy just cannot be confined to path, she must make her own way. - IMG_0074
The effect of excitement, action, and kinetic energy is absolutely perfect. It stands as a metaphor for the ever-present but often overlooked dance of life. - IMG_0075
These rocks revealed much to me, but did not produce a particularly profound image. - IMG_0076
This is a nice composition. The gentle motion has a calming effect. We were at the base of a rock slide. Everybody stopped to look. - IMG_0072
I love how this image combines recognizability with extreme distortion and a certain amount of silhouetting. The encodiong of my low perspective with the immediate horizon is also interesting. Laura is in the center and Griffin is to her right. - IMG_0073
The negative space defined by Priscilla's back and a little bit of foliage is quite compelling. The overexposure is disappointing, though. Hopefully, dad can give me some pointers to improve this in the future. - IMG_0068
Shots incorporating parts of myself were surprisingly difficult with our set-up, but I managed a few. - IMG_0071
This is another accidental shot taken during a moment of sniffing.
