- James Monroe Bohannon, b. September 6, 1881
Ollie's black suitcase. Painted photo to match the one of Ollie. Kathy's notes say it was taken "about 1900." - Ollie Lea George Bohannon, b. 1883
Ollie's black suitcase. Colored photograph. Kathy's notes identify Ollie as being 18 years old at the time of the picture. - David George, Betty's ex husband
In pen and ink, Bettie has written "January the 3. 1886 when me and Dave George parted, Betty George." Tintype Scrap wedged in the frame cites the Bible, "The face of the Lord is against them that do evil." (Ps. xxxiv) Wish I knew the story behind this split. - Ollie George Bohannon, child
Ollie at age 4 or 5 in an Edwardian princess dress. This is the only childhood photo we have of her. Ollie's black suitcase. - James Monroe Bohannon, infant
Note in Kathy's handwriting. Ollie's black suitcase. - Betty Gardener George, Ollie Bohannon's mom
Ollie's black suitcase. When was this taken? It looks too old for her to be that old. But the box notes say, "Grandma Bettie Gardner George and her father; uncle Sol Gardner he was called." - Bettie Gardener George with Josaphene and Mollie
Mollie is on the left and Josaphene on the right. Bettie's oldest children. Note in box identifies Mollie as the oldest, but Bettie's note has her second oldest, dying at age 24 of typhoid and Joey at age 3 of unknown cause. Pen and ink note in Betty's handwriting says, "Joey [Josaphene] Gorge bornd May the 24, 1873. Mary [Mollie] T[?] George bornd September the 28, 1874. Robert George bornd January the 5, 1877." Ollie's black suitcase. - Sol Gardener (Betty's dad), 1821-1908
Ollie's black suitcase. We also have a collection of Sol's glasses and his cobbler tools. - The David and Betty George family
David and Betty Gardener George with children, except Ollie who was the youngest. Joey died at age 3, so Mollie is the oldest and so should be behind David. I'm not sure of the boys' birth orders. There was Robert (Uncle Rob who lived in a nursing home in Plainview) who was just a few years older than Ollie, and Jeff and Sal who were older than Rob. I need to learn birth order so I can identify the boys individually. - Bettie Gardener George
Ollie's black suitcase. This image was in a folding case usually associated with tintypes. Bettie is opposite another photo of her with Joey and Mollie. Box notes in Kathy's hand say "Grandma Bettie on right." - Headstone: Solomon Gardner (2/15/1821 to 12-6-1908)
I wonder which cemetery this is in. Most likely in the Grovespring area. - IMG_20100407_2715.jpg

Pottery chick egg cup, Ruth Adlersfluegel Ruth kept this little cutie in the cabinet in the front room. We use it as an easter decoration with one of the first eggs Wally ever dyed.
